Fall Decor 2016

Fall Decor 2016

I like to keep my Fall decor fairly simple. I avoid using bold colors, even though that is what I think of when I think of Fall. I grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, so every year I got to bear witness to one of natures most breathtaking transformations. The leaves would change colors in beautiful oranges, yellows, greens and even some purple. It’s the ONLY thing I miss about living in Tennessee.

Since our home is more inspired by coastal living, I try to use muted colors. These pumpkins from Michael’s are perfect. I finally invested in faux pumpkins this year since they wound up costing me about the same as real ones would and I can use them every year. I bought these 3 when they were 50% off and I had a 25% off coupon. I paid around $16 for all 3 and thought it was a great deal!

I bought another green one for the living room to pair with my white, wooden one from Home Goods.

These little white pumpkins were only $2 each at Target. I tossed some shell in my dough bowl and lined them up on top. This sits on the hearth.

Here are some on the mantle from Hobby Lobby. They came on a floral stem that I broke off. I want to paint these since they have a yellow tinge to them. I just love the curly stems on these.

I like to keep decorating to a minimum for Fall. I have to save my energy for Christmas.
