December 2016 Favorite Finds

I don’t even think I ever posted my last favorite finds post, but one of my resolutions for 2017 is to make sure I am posting regularly. If I’m going to plan it, I will make sure it happens!
This time I decided to share what I have noticed to be rising trends and what I think we will see more of in 2017 home decor, etc.
I have also decided to make my blog a “home decor & lifestyle blog” because I want to have enough content to share regularly and I am not always doing home remodeling projects.
One thing I think will occur more in our homes in 2017 is adopting the motto “Less is more.” I think we will see a decrease in the amount of decor and it will be replaced with larger pieces to fill our spaces, but not overfill them. I think a lot of people are wanting to simplify their lives in every way. I know I do.
One trend that I think we will see everywhere this year is velvet. I think it will be making its return and in some very bold colors. Amber, blush, rose, dark rouge, gold and smoky blue. Pottery Barn has some beautiful washed velvet pillows in a couple of these colors:
And here is a beautiful grey for you farmhouse lovers!
And this Nia Velvet pillow is currently marked down to $14.50. Go and grab some quickly before it ends!
Marble & wood will continue to be a growing trend, especially marble everything! These beautiful marble & wood coasters from Target would be perfect sitting around on your coffee or end tables and would help add just a small pop of clean texture to your room. They are $11.99 for a set of 4. You can also find variations of these at my favorite sister stores (Home Goods, T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s).
With that, I believe wood and gold will also be a trendy pair. I love the design of these coasters from Target as well. These are made from Acacia wood.
I also believe that we will continue to see faux fur hang around for the remainder of the cooler months as they add a warmth and coziness. These beautiful ones from Pottery Barn are currently on sale.
In the kitchen, I think we will see rose gold and white making a statement this year. Crate & Barrel has a beautiful set of flatware.
And Target also has a beautiful set if you need something for a smaller budget.
I don’t want to go overboard in sharing items, I just wanted to post what I think will be some top trends this year.
